The mission for Reviate and Breakthrough Energy is to accelerate the transition of contrail research into actionable climate solutions.
Breakthrough Energy is working to build the most up-to-date science into contrail mitigation solutions that can be used by the aviation industry to significantly—and immediately—reduce their climate impact today. The Contrails Observer app enables researchers and citizen scientists to observe contrail forming regions of the atmosphere from the ground. These observations will support the detection of contrail forming regions and improve weather forecasts to reduce contrail-climate impact of aviation by 1-2%.

About Breakthrough Energy: Contrails Observer Mobile App :
Breakthrough Energy partnered with HappyFunCorp to design, develop and launch Contrails Observer, a mobile app that invites all to be involved in the climate change mitigation process by identifying, tracking and collecting contrail observations from the ground. Recent estimates show that contrail-cirrus warming from aircrafts contributes roughly 2% to CO2 emissions. Observations collected are used to help build and validate models with AI that will positively impact global climate change.
